Heathrow Airport Supplier Awards

In August 2023, we submitted our entry for the Heathrow Airport Supplier Awards in the Creative Solutions category for our Learning and Development project to Empower Employees. Our entry was in relation to a project where we re-engineered Heathrow’s Line Manager workshop into a compelling self-serve, digital programme, accessible by all colleagues at Heathrow.

Heathrow’s existing workshop was 4.5-days. We managed to condense this into a digital programme taking just 4-5 hours to complete.

About the project

The scale of the project was significant with over 75 assets being designed, built and published – 14 animated videos, 22 elearning modules, 6 scenario practice modules, 6 assessment/quizzes and 28 quick reference infographics.

Amphigean used its creative flair to design content templates and visuals to align perfectly with the Heathrow brand and strategy, and supported with the layout and accessibility requirements on Heathrow’s Learning Management System.

Positive Outcomes

The programme achieved many positive outcomes, aligned to both the requirements of the People team at Heathrow and Heathrow’s strategy and 2.0 targets:

core part

Learning fully aligned to the six Heathrow values to help managers embed them in everyday activities

A reduction in training time, increasing productivity and delivering ongoing cost savings

Less travel and use of onsite venues, replaced by digital learning at any place of work, helping towards net zero delivery

A focus on the essential elements of training and resources at the point of need, giving managers confidence to deal with workplace scenarios

social-challenges
instructional design

Improved engagement with learning which sets the foundation for developing leadership programmes in the future

Proof of concept achieved, and the benefits of digital content demonstrated – Learning on the go, any time, any place, anywhere and on any device

The Awards

Team Amphigean were delighted to be a part of the Awards held at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow. There were hundreds of entries and 14 winners from seven different categories: Health Safety and Wellbeing, Net Zero, Thriving Supply Chain, Social Value, Creative Solution, Behaviour, and Supplier of the Year. A fantastic £99,000 was raised from the event for the Heathrow Community Trust.

Although we were disappointed not to have come away with the award, we had a fantastic evening and had some wonderful conversations with the Heathrow Airport team and the other suppliers who attended.
