National Lottery Heritage Fund visualises funding options and compliance.

BACKGROUND
The National Lottery Heritage Fund distributes National Lottery grants and non-lottery funding to support the development and sustainability of UK heritage. Since 1994 it has managed £8.3bn of funding and supported over 49,000 projects.
It operates across a diverse range of heritage categories and looks to encourage the application of best-practice, including topics such as diversity and equality, inclusion, and the environment.
CHALLENGE
The knowledge hub team needed a simple, yet effective method of sharing best-practice across diverse teams, which could be accessed at the point of need.

It was difficult to articulate the many aspects of funding criteria across the diverse teams

Lengthy documents of information tended to be left unread by time-short staff

New starters or those new to a team took a while to appreciate the varied criteria for funding decisions

In-house teams were not experienced in creating visually engaging digital content

SOLUTION
Amphigean created a series of highly engaging digital posters (infographics), providing clear guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. These share best-practice across different teams and help ensure that funding applications are compliant.

14 x topics including:

OUTCOMES
A highly targeted digital resource shortening onboarding for new starters, sharing best-practice across teams, and helping to drive funding against specific development criteria.

Certainty of communications since the content is easily accessible and absorbed

The posters are now a core part of the Academy resource to help new starters embed into their teams quickly

Funding decisions are better aligned to critical criteria, helping to achieve the objectives of the Fund and sustain and develop UK heritage

A number of ‘digital posters’ have been developed into animated videos to extend the conversation to other internal and external stakeholders
