Critical information for clinicians working with women with menopause concerns is expertly treated to create an engaging, certification-driven learning suite to improve understanding and treatment of the menopause.
BACKGROUND
The British Menopause Society (BMS) was established in 1989 and is recognised as the specialist authority for menopause and post reproductive health in the UK.
The society works to educate healthcare professionals and to support women and their partners. It is driven by the mission to increase awareness of post reproductive health issues, and to inform and promote management and treatment of symptoms and associative conditions.
CHALLENGE
BMS continues to develop an incredible library of information and resources that are designed to educate, support and promote, and were keen to produce a programme that brought those resources and tools together.
They wanted to create a suite of learning with certification for the medical professionals with whom they work, to advance their understanding of menopause and post reproductive health.
The course needed to:

Incorporate materials and information as designed by Subject Matter Experts familiar with the content and its purpose.

Apply proper learning treatment to critical content that was quite often highly technical and complex in nature.

Be presented as an attractive, modern and engaging piece, with consideration given for interactive elements and effective navigation.

Incorporate a number of knowledge check points to ensure proper learning and to be used in determining a final outcome for certification.
The amount of information and materials that would make up the suite of learning was substantial. The programme needed to retain incredibly high levels of engagement for complex and critical learning that spanned a period close to five days in total.
SOLUTION
The solution for a project of such complexity and size was first established in a very close and collaborative environment between BMS and Amphigean. This working relationship would go on to facilitate the evolution and eventual delivery of such a successful project.
The package of delivery of the ‘BMS Management of the Menopause certificate’ was comprised of:

A suite of 6 modules and 21 corresponding sections covering topics including assessment, prescribing, HRT, and associative conditions.

Knowledge check assessments, placed at the culmination of each module in order to both assess understanding of the topic, and to reiterate learning.

A beautifully presented eLearning package, designed as highly engaging, topic appropriate, and with UX principles in mind.

Liaison and guidance in LMS implementation, giving the society the tools and understanding required to take full advantage of the capabilities of their learning platform.

A bespoke tutorial package, facilitating BMS manipulation of course content to make minor adjustments as necessary in the future.

OUTCOME
The programme was officially launched in November 2024 and continues to attract many medical professionals looking to achieve certification.

“Amphigean did an outstanding job in taking our raw text and transforming it into engaging, digital content, utilising our branding as a starting point for the design. The subject matter was very complex and detailed but that didn’t daunt them. We absolutely love the clean look and feel of the e-learning, which is exactly what we were looking for. The Amphigean team was very easy to work with, followed our brief whilst making useful suggestions for improvements and were extremely patient, responsive and obliging when we went through numerous fact-checks and edits. We formed an excellent partnership and Amphigean continues to be a trusted support.”
