Bronze recognition for BHAW

Health at Work Initiative.

“We have been part of the scheme since late 2019 and have made Better Health at Work an integral part of our day-to-day activities. The award reflects the hard work and commitment of all of our team and the efforts of our Health Advocates”, says Peter Simpson, Amphigean Managing Director.

The scheme requires organisations to demonstrate the adoption of good, healthy, working practices and the development of a network of support and training.

During our first 18 months in the scheme, our Advocates delivered a wide range of supporting programmes and activities including: competitive step challenges, short office-based exercises; talks on good hydration, healthy recipes, along with tips for monitoring physical changes which could be signs of underlying issues, and an area for signposting external, expert support.

Covid and lockdown also provided opportunity to extend the support offered, each member of the team providing useful insight and safety advice into hobbies and activities of their choice.

None of this would be possible without the motivation and coordination provided by our Health Advocates. In particular, Anna Martin and Caitlin Elliott provided significant input, with Anna ensuring that we provided the required evidence for our successful submission.

While we are delighted with this award, there is more that we can do and that’s why we’re now signed up for the Silver award over the next few years.
